The Anoka County Library is dedicated to fostering connections between local authors and readers through our comprehensive Local Author Program. This session will provide an in-depth look at how our library selects and promotes 16 local authors each year, enhancing their visibility and engagement within the community. Participants will learn about our strategic approach to author selection, promotion, and event coordination, and will leave with actionable insights to implement similar programs in their own libraries.
Session Goals:
  • Share best practices and strategies for promoting local authors.
  • Discuss the impact of community engagement on local author success.
  • Provide a framework for libraries to replicate or adapt the Local Author Program to suit their own communities.
  • Foster a dialogue on the importance of supporting local authors within the library ecosystem.
